Our Story
We are an earth-based doula cooperative, meaning we center reproductive and environmental justice to our core. As a women of color and indigenous-led co-op we center our people, healing, and supporting you to have the best birth experience we can.
Tochtli is a Nahuatl word meaning "rabbit". The Rabbit represents fertility, abundance, the moon, and a deep connection to nature. We chose the Tochtli because of it’s symbolism, and the day we were discussing names for the cooperative, we saw three bunnies chasing each other, embracing joy under a full moon. We saw it as a sign of our collective vision and connection to community.
Our Services and Offerings
Birth Doula Services
Our birth doula packages range from $2,000- $3,500 with a variety of different services differentiating each package.
We also accept Medicaid
Postpartum Care and Healing
We can support your postpartum recovery and birth story integration through a traditional Cerrada de Caderas Ceremony, herbal support, and connection with other postpartum parents through parent and womens’ circles
Childbirth Education
Childbirth education through a physiological and indigenous lens that is both culturally informed and rooted in evidence-based and traditional knowledge
Information on herbal support, with herbs to take home
Private and group classes offered
Placenta Encapsulation
Placenta Encapsulation can be a beautiful way of honoring yourself. The organ that you created that nourished your baby can also nourish you postpartum.
Traditional Chinese Method or Raw Method are offered for sliding scale $175-220. Placenta will be prayed over and cleansed through smoke and song.
